A viper with scales made of actual copper. An ambush predator beast.

Imagine a snake about the length of a bear with scales green like rusted copper. It’s tail has a metallic rattle.

It is vulnerable to electricity. It can smell very well, and hold its breath 20 minutes.

Attacks (1/round)

Venomous Bite. The copperback makes a melee attack (1D4). On a hit, the target must save or become poisoned.

Copperback Venom. Poison. Symptom: you fall asleep and nothing can wake you up for 4 hours.

  2. Lair: A mound of rotten leaves and copper scales. 2-6 chances that there are eggs.
      OR
    Omen: A metallic rattle.
  3. Spoor: A sleeping beast. Can’t wake up.

  6. Trace: Molted skin made of green rust.
Salvaging the body

The copperback is not entirely made of metal and its flesh is edible. However, its scales are, and can make very flexible copper armors. The most valued part of the copperback are its venom sacks.
